AnziZiplines

Price Free · apply on DiscordVersion 1.0.0Platform Paper 26.2+Optional LuckPerms · Vault

AnziZiplines adds rideable ziplines to your server. Pick two points with a wand, add bends if you want them, and the plugin strings a particle rope between them. Players right click the rope and glide along it, hanging underneath. Every rope has its own speed, look, price and permission, all set from an in-game menu.

AnziZiplines is free, but you have to apply for it. It is not on a marketplace. Ask for it in the Discord server. See How to Get It.

Overview

  • Built with a wand. Left click sets point A, right click sets point B, and shift-clicks add bends (waypoints) in between. A preview line shows the route while you hold the wand.
  • Smooth, locked-on rides. The rider sits on an invisible carrier that the server moves along the rope every tick. They cannot walk off the line or get knocked off it.
  • Ropes that hang. Ropes sag like a cable or arch like a bridge. Riders follow the same curve the particles draw.
  • Slopes matter. A steep drop speeds riders up and a climb slows them down, and you choose how much. When they let go, they keep their momentum.
  • One menu per rope. Speed, particles, colour, arch, cooldown, price, permission, dismount point and more are set per zipline in a chest menu. Nothing needs a restart.
  • Permissions per rope. Each zipline gets its own node, ziplines.ride.<id>. With LuckPerms installed, these nodes show up in /lp tab completion.
  • Paid rides. With Vault and an economy plugin, a rope can cost money. Riders confirm in chat before they pay.
  • Cleans up after itself. A carrier left behind by a crash or a /reload is removed on startup and whenever its chunk loads.

Requirements

  • Paper 26.2 or newer
  • Optional: LuckPerms, which adds tab completion for each rope's permission node and checks nodes that have contexts
  • Optional: Vault and an economy plugin, needed for paid ziplines

How to Get It

AnziZiplines costs nothing, but it is not a public download. To get it:

  1. Join the Discord server.
  2. Apply for AnziZiplines there. Say which server it is for.
  3. Once you are approved, you get the jar.

Installation

  1. Put AnziZiplines-1.0.0.jar in your server's plugins/ folder.
  2. Optional: install LuckPerms and/or Vault with an economy plugin.
  3. Start the server. plugins/AnziZiplines/config.yml is created on the first start.
  4. Run /zipline wand in-game and build your first rope.

Building a Zipline

  1. Run /zipline wand to get the Zipline Wand (a blaze rod by default).
  2. Pick the route with the clicks below. All points must be in the same world.
  3. Run /zipline create <name>. The rope appears and its editor opens.
Wand clickEffect
Left click a blockSets point A
Right click a blockSets point B
Shift + left clickAdds a waypoint (a bend in the rope)
Shift + right clickRemoves the last waypoint

The name can contain spaces. The id used in commands is made from it and never changes, even if you rename the zipline later. The route must be at least 2 blocks long. Ziplines are saved in plugins/AnziZiplines/ziplines.yml.

To move an existing rope, make a new selection with the wand and click Move the route in its editor.

Riding

  • Right click the rope to grab it. You can be up to 5 blocks away (the grab reach) and your crosshair has to be close to the rope.
  • /zipline ride [name] grabs the nearest rope without aiming. It works within 5 blocks of the rope itself, so standing anywhere under a long line is enough.
  • Press shift to let go mid-ride, unless the rope has Let go mid-ride turned off.
  • You ride in the direction you are facing along the rope. If you grab it at one end, you ride towards the other. A one-way rope only runs from A to B.
  • A paid rope asks for confirmation first. Type yes in chat to pay and ride.
  • With fall protection on, you take no fall damage for a moment after the ride ends. You are set down in open space, never inside a block.

The Editor

Open it with /zipline edit <name>, or with /zipline (or /zipline list) and a click on the rope. Number buttons go up with a left click and down with a right click. Shift changes the value faster, and a middle click lets you type an exact value in chat.

Defaults come from the defaults section of config.yml. Each zipline keeps its own copy of these settings, so changing the config later does not affect ziplines that already exist.

ButtonDefaultWhat it does
Speed12 blocks/sHow fast riders move along the rope.
Slope influence0.350 keeps the speed constant. 1 roughly doubles it on a steep drop and nearly stops riders on a steep climb.
Exit launch1.0How much momentum riders keep when they let go. 0 drops them straight down.
Ride cooldown0 sSeconds before the same player can ride this rope again.
Ride priceFreeCost per ride, through Vault. Without an economy plugin, a priced rope refuses every rider instead of letting them ride for free.
Required permissionNoneShift click to use ziplines.ride.<id>, left click to type any node, right click to clear it.
Fall protectionOnNo fall damage right after the ride.
Ride soundsOnPlays sounds while riding.
Let go mid-rideOnWhen off, riders stay on until the end of the rope.
Two-wayOnWhen off, the rope can only be ridden from A to B.
Grab reach5 blocksHow far away a player can right click the rope.
EnabledOnA disabled rope cannot be ridden.
Rope visibleOnTurns the particles off while keeping the rope rideable.

Dust colour120, 220, 255 · size 1.0Only for dust particles. Click to cycle presets, shift click to change the size, middle click to type r,g,b.
Particle spacing0.5 blocksDistance between particles along the rope.
Refresh interval10 ticksHow often the particles are redrawn. Lower is smoother but costs more.
View range32 blocksPlayers further away do not receive the rope's particles.
Rope arch0.4How far the middle of the rope sits from a straight line. Positive sags down, negative arches up.
Arch shape1.01 is a plain curve. Below 1 the rope rounds off across the top, above 1 it peaks in the middle.
Ghast offset (forward / up / side)0 / −2.3 / 0Where the rider hangs compared to the rope. A negative "up" hangs them below it.
Ghast size0.5Fine-tunes how high the rider sits. The carrier is invisible either way.
Dismount offset (forward / up / side)0 / 0 / 0Where riders are set down when the ride ends.
Display name—Renames the zipline. The id stays the same.
Teleport to point A / B—Takes you to either end.
Move the route—Replaces A, B and every waypoint with your current wand selection.
Clear waypoints—Makes the rope a straight line from A to B again.
Test ride—Closes the menu and puts you on the rope at point A.
Delete zipline—Shift + right click to delete. This cannot be undone.

ziplines.useEveryoneRide ziplines.
ziplines.ride.<id>No oneRide one zipline that requires its permission.
ziplines.ride.*No oneRide every zipline that requires a permission.
ziplines.adminOPCreate, edit and delete ziplines. Includes ziplines.use and ziplines.ride.*, so admins can ride every rope. Paid ropes still charge them.

A rope only needs a permission if one is set in its editor. To lock a rope to a rank, shift click Required permission and grant the node, for example /lp group vip permission set ziplines.ride.canyon.

Configuration

FAQ

Q: Right clicking the rope does nothing

A: Get closer (within the grab reach) and aim straight at the particles, or use /zipline ride. Also check that the rope is enabled and that you have its permission, if it needs one.

Q: Riders end up inside the ground

A: They should not. Riders are always moved up out of solid blocks when they get off. If the drop-off point is in a bad spot, change the Dismount offset in the editor.

Q: The rope is not drawn

A: Some particles need block or item data and cannot be used. The editor warns you about this. Pick another particle and check that Rope visible is on.

Q: A paid rope refuses everyone

A: That happens when no economy plugin is installed. Install Vault and an economy plugin, or set the price back to 0.

Q: Does it run on Folia?

A: No. It is made for Paper 26.2 and newer.
